Wisconsin is sending a message to the Big Ten after beating USC
Wisconsin defeated USC on Saturday, 24-7. It was a signature win for Badgers head coach Luke Fickell. Fickell was pleased with the play of his squad, especially USC transfer Bryan Jackson.
“The situation is pretty special,” Fickell said postgame, per the Associated Press. “Sometimes you’ve just got to give guys greater opportunities when the game’s on the line. He showed us something tonight that we thought maybe he had.”
The loss was a tough one for USC. USC head coach Lincoln Riley is already under fire from fans, after struggling to meet expectations in recent years.
“We flat out didn’t play good enough on any of the three sides of the ball,” Riley said. “We didn’t coach good enough and we made critical errors on the road against a good team that you can’t make. There were some moments of good, but we couldn’t sustain it and grab momentum.”
Following the win, Wisconsin is now 5-2 on the season. The Badgers next play Iowa on Saturday.
