Leavitt threw for 387 passing yards on Saturday, and posted three touchdowns through the air. He added one on the ground. Leavitt helped LSU post 552 yards of total offense against Auburn.

“We obviously didn’t have them ready to rock,” Auburn head coach Alex Golesh said, per the Associated Press. “Really disappointed in that. I’ll find a way to make them respond because that’s the only option they’ve got. We’ve had the high of highs, and that was the low of lows.”

LSU is now 6-2 on the season, following the win.

LSU got the job done against Auburn

Kiffin is in his first season leading the Tigers. While LSU has lost a few games, the Tigers are currently undefeated at home this season. LSU holds a 3-2 conference mark in the SEC.

Leavitt wasn’t the only star for LSU against Auburn. Tigers wide receiver Jackson Harris caught two touchdown passes. He posted nine receptions for 178 yards receiving.

“He just works really hard,” Kiffin said of Harris. “We saw his speed and outran everybody in the SEC to get his play today. … It’s awesome to see.”

The Tigers are about to go through a three-game gauntlet in SEC play. LSU still has to play Alabama, Texas and Tennessee in their next three contests. Time will tell if LSU can earn a bid to the College Football Playoff.

The CFP is the goal for Kiffin’s program. Kiffin previously coached at Ole Miss. He led the Rebels during the 2025 season to the playoff, but left for LSU before his Rebels starting playing in the CFP.

LSU football is next in action against Alabama on November 7.
