As the Texas A&M football program is led by head coach Mike Elko and quarterback Marcel Reed, there’s no denying that the latter has been questioned by many to the point where some believe he should be benched. As the conversation around the Texas A&M football team benching Reed continues, it will only amplify in his first-half performance against Missouri on Saturday.

Reed absolutely struggled in the first half against Missouri, completing only five of 13 pass attempts for 47 yards to go along with two interceptions, one that happened in the red zone.

Fans aren’t happy with Texas A&M football’s Marcel Reed

Let’s just say that fans aren’t too happy with Reed’s performance, as before Saturday’s game against the Tigers, the senior quarterback has thrown for 908 yards, six touchdowns, and four interceptions through five games. One user on X, “Keaton Wells,” would go as far as to say that he “never wants to see Marcel Reed take another snap at QB,” calling him a “miserable and soft player.”

Another user by the name of “Petty from the Pocket” would ask the question that some have been repeating for weeks now, which is that “Texas A&M has to bench Marcel Reed soon, right?” Reed is not the only person with the Aggies to be targeted, with “Anna Ivie” saying that the program should bench Reed and fire head coach Mike Elko.

“I’ve seen enough,” the user wrote. “Bench Marcel Reed and fire Mike Elko.”

At any rate, with the Texas A&M football team heading towards their third loss of the season, it remains to be seen if Reed will end up getting benched for Oct. 17 against The Citadel.
