Things just went from bad to worse for Texas A&M football on Saturday, as the Aggies were demolished by the Missouri Tigers, 27-6, at Faurot Field in CoMo.
The Aggies' offensive drought against ranked teams continued in Week 6, as the unit has not scored a touchdown against a ranked team since the fourth quarter of last year's Lone Star Showdown against the Texas Longhorns. Much of that falloff rests on junior quarterback Marcel Reed, who has been far from consistent at the position in the SEC.
Defenders held Reed to just 187 passing yards, two interceptions, and a 49% completion rate. Texas A&M also managed just 29 rushing yards, compared to Missouri's 252 on the ground and nearly 400 total yards on offense. Needless to say, it was an afternoon to forget for the Aggies, one of their worst performances against an SEC opponent in a long time.
Here are some social media reactions from Texas A&M's first loss to Missouri since 2014:
Can Texas A&M afford to keep Reed as the starting quarterback?
I've always been a Marcel Reed fan, but I don't know how Texas A&M can keep letting him play
He misses so many open, easy throws— SEC Mike (@MichaelWBratton) October 10, 2026
It could have been much uglier than it ended up
No clue how this is a 10-point game entering the 4th quarter pic.twitter.com/aj0098uywz

The regression of A&M's offense is concerning
Texas A&M’s offense today:
• 3 Points
• 74 yards
• 2/11 on 3rd Downs
• 2 Interceptions
• 1.3 Rush Yards Per Play
• 3.4 Pass Yards Per Play
This unit’s regression needs to be studied. pic.twitter.com/Mjgt3SsS9R— College Football Report (@CFBReport) October 10, 2026
David Olano has been a massive bright spot for the Aggies

Texas A&M isn't the worst offense in the SEC... yet
It’s nothing short of amazing that this Texas A&M offense isnt the worst in the SEC. Truly just insane stuff by Arkansas to be worse than this.

Aggie wideouts could poof before our eyes

It doesn't get any easier from here
28-7, 27-6, 33-6.
A&M has trailed by those margins in 3 of 4 SEC games.
It doesn't get much uglier than that...and the Ags' next conference game is against Keelon Russell in Tuscaloosa. Joy.— Billy Liucci (@billyliucci) October 10, 2026
Texas A&M regretting its decision to hand Reed the big bucks?
Is there a team in college football that regrets re-signing its highly-paid QB more than Texas A&M?

Rough outing for the Aggies, to say the least
Missouri just iced it against Texas A&M, taking a 27-6 lead. Tigers have nearly 250 yards rushing.
The Aggies, one of this season's biggest disappointments, have lost three of four games and will drop to 3-3.— Ross Dellenger (@RossDellenger) October 10, 2026
Major concerns and questions about the quarterback position after this loss
How bad is the Texas A&M QB room that Elko can't bench Marcel Reed? Absolutely dead offense right now
— Joe DeLeone (@joedeleone) October 10, 2026
Disappointing is about the best word that sums this performance up
I love Texas A&M. I want Elko and A&M to be successful in football. Hate sounding like a jerk but we have to be honest…
It’s coaching malpractice to be in a position where this is literally your only option at quarterback. The offense is absolutely broken and due to lack of…— Gabe Bock (@GabeBock) October 10, 2026
Reed's stock continues to plummet
How does Texas A&M continue to trot Marcel Reed out there on a weekly basis?

Aggie QB could be one of the worst in college football
Is Marcel Reed the worst quarterback in the country?

Even when Reed can find the Aggie wideouts, they do not help him out
Man its hard to watch A&M's offense. Reed too many misses but than he hits em in stride, and they drop the ball. Run game is no where to be found. Ugg. A&M hoping for a bowl game now.

Massive performance from Missouri's defense
What Mizzou’s defense is doing to Texas A&M is absolutely INSANE.
12 minutes left in the game…A&M has TWO first downs, 74 total yards, and 3 points. Takeaways all over the place.

The bad just keeps getting worse for the Aggies
Texas A&M falls to 2-5 in its last 7 games vs FBS teams
You could argue 4 of the 5 losses were embarrassing performances
Mike Elko had better clean this up in a hurry! https://t.co/ndVNy6n0X5— SEC Mike (@MichaelWBratton) October 10, 2026
Final score from one of the worst performances of the Elko era

The last time A&M was this bad offensively was the Jimbo Fisher era
FINAL: Missouri 27, Texas A&M 6.
This is the worst A&M has been offensively since at least 2022, and there’s so much to dislike and not many quick fixes.
A&M falls to 3-3, and with three top-15 opponents + three road games left, A&M looks like it’ll be fighting to make a bowl.— Carter Karels (@CarterKarels) October 10, 2026
Things just went from bad to worse in a hurry
Things have to change, and fast, for Texas A&M.
Marcel Reed has continued to take steps back following the hirings over the offseason, and there’s just not enough elite talent that can change the game.
A very disappointing start to the season, and it will only get tougher.— Jaxson Callaway (AT) (@AggiesToday) October 10, 2026
A&M's lack of success against ranked opponents needs to be studied
Texas A&M has not scored a touchdown against a ranked team since the 4th quarter against Texas last year (12 consecutive quarters).
Marcel Reed has not accounted for a touchdown against a ranked team since the 3rd quarter against Missouri last year (17 consecutive quarters). pic.twitter.com/XBl6ocgrIp— Luke Evangelist (@lukeevangelist_) October 10, 2026
It's been that kind of day for the Aggies
A TV guy just sat at the post game press conference microphone and repeated 1,2.1,2.1,2 several times. I'm not sure if he was testing for sound or recapping A&M's offensive gains

Something must change in College Station
Texas A&M has put up less than 200 yards of offense in 2 of their last 3 games:
197 vs LSU and 146 vs Missouri
From 2015 to 2025, Texas A&M had less than 200 yards of offense just TWICE:
169 vs LSU (2019) and 192 vs Ole Miss (2015) pic.twitter.com/Vd9Gk8ijsT— Luke Evangelist (@lukeevangelist_) October 10, 2026
