The Marcel Reed experiment has reached its breaking point, and Texas A&M head coach Mike Elko needs to make a change before this season completely falls apart.
Saturday's embarrassing 27-6 loss to No. 14 Missouri wasn't simply another bad afternoon for the Aggies. It was an indictment of an offense that looks hopelessly overmatched against legitimate SEC competition.

And the responsibility starts with quarterback Marcel Reed and offensive coordinator Holmon Wiggins.
Texas A&M managed just two first downs through three quarters. Two.
The Aggies gained a laughable three yards during the entire third quarter. Eight offensive possessions lasted four plays or fewer.
Reed threw two interceptions, completed just five of 13 passes in the first half and went nearly 14 minutes without completing a throw.
That's not the production of a quarterback capable of leading an SEC contender.
It's the production of a quarterback who needs to watch the next game from the sideline.
Reed's struggles aren't isolated to Missouri, either. Against LSU, he completed 10 of 26 passes for 106 yards and an interception in a 35-6 defeat.
Against Kentucky, he threw two more interceptions as the Aggies fell 31-21.
Texas A&M has now lost three of its first four SEC games, dropping to 3-3 overall.
Meanwhile, Wiggins has done precious little to demonstrate that he can fix the problems.
The first-year offensive play-caller inherited a quarterback with considerable experience and an offense that averaged 444.5 yards per game last season.
What he's producing instead is an unimaginative, predictable attack that can't consistently sustain drives, establish offensive balance or threaten opposing defenses.
That's unacceptable at Texas A&M.
The Aggies have too much invested in this program to keep repeating the same mistakes and expecting different results.
The obvious alternative is Brady Hart, the 6-foot-4 sophomore from Cocoa, Florida, who entered the season as Reed's primary backup.
Hart's college experience is limited, and his 2026 numbers entering Missouri - four completions on nine attempts for 36 yards, one touchdown and one interception - hardly guarantee improvement.
But Hart threw for 8,119 yards and 81 touchdowns during his high school career, demonstrating the passing ability that attracted Texas A&M in the first place.
Freshman Helaman Casuga is another intriguing option. A former four-star prospect from Hawaii, Casuga produced 3,487 passing yards and 37 touchdowns during his final high school season.
He also brings mobility, having rushed for 567 yards and 10 scores.
Sophomore Eli Morcos and junior Paxton Land round out the quarterback room, although neither has established the college résumé to make a compelling case for immediately taking over.
Hart is the logical first choice. Casuga deserves serious consideration if the Aggies want to evaluate their quarterback future.
Neither is a guaranteed solution. But continuing to start Reed without consequences is no longer defensible.
And Wiggins shouldn't escape accountability simply because Reed is struggling.
His job is to develop an offensive system that maximizes his personnel. Through six games, he's failed to demonstrate that he can consistently accomplish that against SEC defenses.
Elko hired Wiggins to move the offense forward, not watch it deteriorate into an embarrassment.
Texas A&M's defense held Missouri within striking distance for much of Saturday's contest. The offense offered virtually nothing in return.
The Aggies don't need another week of excuses about execution, preparation or missed opportunities.

They need a quarterback change. They need better offensive coaching. And they need both immediately.
Otherwise, a disappointing 3-3 start could become something considerably uglier.
