It was yet another chaotic weekend of college football. If you thought Week 7 was good, which it was, Week 8 provided more instant-classic games. Upsets are becoming a common theme of the 2026 football season, and that was the case once again this weekend.

More top-10 teams went down. The biggest upsets came in the Big 12 Conference. One week after beating Notre Dame, BYU fell to UCF in overtime. The Cougars earned a No. 2 ranking, but that was one-and-done after the loss to the Knights.

Then Texas Tech lost to Cincinnati. The Red Raiders have been very shaky this season, but have kept winning. But the luck finally ran out against the two-loss Bearcats.

Ole Miss lost to Texas, Tennessee was upset by South Carolina, and in the Big Ten, both Iowa and USC lost to Minnesota and Wisconsin, respectively. After another week of chaos, here is how the AP Top 25 poll might look entering Week 9.
