The game time has been announced for the Florida Gators visit to Darrell K Royal–Texas Memorial Stadium in Austin to take on the No. 1 Texas Longhorns on Oct. 17. The SEC has announced the game will kickoff at 11 a.m. CT.

Last week, the clash looked to be another Top 10 clash for the Horns. The Gators ranked No. 8 after thrashing Ole Miss at home in Gainesville at the Swamp. But while Texas had a week off, Florida laid a massive egg at Missouri, losing 45-17 to the Tigers in Columbia.

And while on paper it may not look like the toughest remaining game on the Longhorns schedule, the Gators shouldn't be underestimated. Most SEC teams will have a blemish or two on their records by the end of the season.

Florida had a bad weekend, but they still have a lot of talent and seem to have Texas' number. Last year, the Gators manhandled Texas at the Swamp. Even in 2024, UT had to pull away late to shake Florida in Austin.

The morning game time probably hurts the DKR atmosphere some. Night games in Austin are the biggest home advantage the Longhorns have. A win over rival Oklahoma this Saturday should have Longhorns fans revved up, even in the morning.
