College football lost another legend on Tuesday when former Texas A&M head coach Dennis Franchione died at 75, multiple sources confirmed, including ESPN's Pete Thamel.
Franchione compiled a 32-28 record and three bowl appearances while coaching the Aggies in 2003-2007. He resigned after the 2007 season amid controversy over a paid private email newsletter that shared inside team and recruiting information with boosters. Franchione spent three seasons off from college football before being re-hired at Texas State.
Despite his short stint with the Texas A&M program, Franchione made a splash and will forever be remembered for his mark across the sport.

The Kansas native captured five consecutive conference titles with Pittsburg State, where his head coaching roots began, before landing at TCU in 1998.
Franchione's biggest impact came in his second FBS head coaching gig with the Horned Frogs. The former Texas A&M coach notched a 25-10 overall record during his time in Fort Worth, including a 10-1 mark in 200, before he jumped to the Southeastern Conference to lead the Crimson Tide to a 10-win season and a win in the Independence Bowl. Alabama offered him a 10-year contract to stay in Tuscaloosa, but Franchione accepted Texas A&M's offer to take over for R.C. Slocum in College Station, amid pending sanctions against the Tide for violations under former head coach Mike DuBose.
He compiled a career record of 127-110 overall and 12 winning seasons over 20 years of college football coaching.
