Kirby Smart and Georgia football are ranked No. 2 in the latest US LBM Coaches Poll released Sunday, Sept. 20.

The Bulldogs stayed put after their 45-17 thumping of Arkansas in Donald W. Reynolds Stadium.

The top five remain the same with No. 1 Texas, No. 3 Notre Dame, No. 4 Indiana and No. 5 Miami. The rest felt a heavy shake up after an undefeated Ole Miss jumped three spots to No. 6 after beating LSU, who dropped four spots to No. 11, while Ohio State fell one spot to No. 7 and BYU jumped four to No. 9. Texas A&M dropped 12 spots to No. 20 and SMU dropped nine spots to No. 25, while Louisville jumped eight spots to No. 19 and Houston and Virginia both dropped out.

Georgia went from 15 first-place votes last week to 16 this week.

The Bulldogs are also No. 2 in the new Associated Press poll behind No. 1 Texas.
