Kirby Smart and Georgia football remain in the same position in the latest US LBM Coaches Poll after a 38-14 home win over Vanderbilt on Saturday.
The Bulldogs are No. 2, a spot behind Texas which had an open date on its schedule.
Georgia (5-0) has a top 10 matchup next at No. 7 Alabama at 7:30 p.m. ET on Saturday Oct. 10 in a rematch of an SEC Championship game won by the Bulldogs 28-7 last December in Atlanta.
The Bulldogs got 295 passing yards and 3 touchdowns from quarterback Gunner Stockton Saturday to move to 3-0 in the SEC.
Alabama (5-0) is also 3-0 in the SEC after routing Mississippi State 56-23 Saturday in Starkville. The Crimson Tide did not move in the coaches' poll.
"I'm very pleased with where we are," Smart said. "We have to get better, but honestly, I don't know a team in this league that doesn't have to get better."
