The Villanova Women’s Basketball team has high hopes for the upcoming season with a load of returning talent.

The Wildcats were picked second in the Big East, behind only UConn to no one’s surprise.

The Huskies received all first-place votes except one, which went to Villanova via Geno Auriemma using process of elimination.

Villanova went 25-8 overall last season with a 16-4 mark in the Big East. It lost to UConn in the final of the conference tournament before being knocked out of the NCAA Tournament in the first round by Texas Tech.

The Wildcats return Jasmine Bascoe, who led the team with 18.9 points per game last season. She was named First Team All-Conference and is on the preseason list as well. Sophomore guard Kennedy Henry is also a Preseason All-Conference selection.
