Texas A&M is now 4-4 and 1-5 in SEC play after falling to South Carolina in Columbia, 17-9, behind another fourth-quarter collapse, as the Aggies held a slight 9-7 lead before South Carolina QB LaNorris Sellers led the Gamecocks to two late scoring drives, capping things off with his 41-yard touchdown run that all but ended the game.

Starting quarterback Marcel Reed, who wasn't the primary reason the Aggies lost, completed 25/43 for 251 yards but, for the third time in SEC play, couldn't reach the end zone and failed to take advantage of multiple red-zone trips, relying on three field goals from kicker David Olano.

Yet again, outside of two touchdowns, Texas A&M's defense did more than enough to give the Aggies chances to win, but when an offense fails to capitalize on turnovers and great field position, it's hard to place much, or any, blame on first-year defensive coordinator Lyle Hemphill, while first-year OC Holmon Wiggins, at this point, should not be retained next season.

Texas A&M is, in my opinion, the third- or fourth-worst team in the SEC, while the latest SEC standings reflect that opinion, especially after Georgia blew out Ole Miss on the road 42-7, while Texas and Alabama secured massive road wins over Missouri and LSU.

After another entertaining Week 10, here are the latest SEC standings.
