Well that changed everything.
Missouri is Missouri. We know what it is under head coach Eli Drinkwitz. Solid team, wins the games it’s supposed to, loses the games it’s supposed to, goes to a bowl game, does fine, repeat. It’s not supposed to beat the (at the time) No. 8 team in the nation 45-17 like it did against Florida last week.
And now, all of a sudden, the remaining schedule doesn’t seem that awful. There’s a loss there – at Ole Miss, at Georgia, and Texas are coming up – but could the Tigers close 6-1 and get a spot in the College Football Playoff? Not without a win over Texas A&M.
The Aggies got back on track with a 34-7 win over Arkansas, but after losing to LSU and Kentucky, there’s zero margin for error the rest of the way.

Why Texas A&M Will Win
The Aggies have to establish the running game right away.
Missouri immediately took the ground game away from Florida last week, and everything fell apart for the Gators from there. It hasn’t been easy to run on this Tiger bunch, and the Aggies aren’t going to rip off over five yards per carry.
Mississippi State, though, was just effective enough to balance out its attack in the 31-24 win over Mizzou a few weeks ago. Texas A&M has to get into a good rhythm right away, and that requires Marcel Reed to throw like he did last week against Arkansas with short-to-midrange passes that kept things moving.
Why Missouri Will Win
Reed has to be almost perfect, and he won’t be.
Missouri’s defensive front is bringing the pressure from everywhere. The pass rush is good, the tackles for loss are coming in waves, and while Texas A&M’s offensive front should be able to handle most of it, Reed hasn’t been great when he isn’t getting time.
Mizzou might get flagged a bit too much, but it hasn’t turned the ball over in the last three games. The Aggie defense has only come up with two takeaways in the last three outings.
Texas A&M vs Missouri Prediction, Betting Lines
Missouri will keep the party going, but this is still Texas A&M.
Poor, poor Texas A&M. This little underdog of a football program will hope to get out with a fine meal, a spirited game, and as few injuries as possible, and …
This is still a strong Aggie team that gets to do the “Texas A&M vs The World” thing, with just about everyone assuming Missouri will win this in a walk. The Tigers will come through late with one big scoring drive to get out alive, but this will not be a repeat of the Florida demolition.
