As expected, Penn State is no longer among the ranked teams in college football. After suffering a humiliating defeat on the road against Northwestern in Week 5, the voters in the US LBM Coaches Poll have removed Penn State from the ballot entirely this week, dropping Penn State from No. 22 the previous week.

The US LBM Coaches Poll was updated Sunday afternoon following the conclusion of Week 5. This week's poll saw some notable changes following the Week 5 results, including No. 8 Florida losing to No. 25 Missouri to cause a bit of a shakeup in the rankings, especially among SEC programs. But the top spots in the poll remain pretty consistent. Texas remains No. 1 after a bye week while Georgia holds a secure grip on No. 2 in this week's coaches poll.

Indiana (No. 5) and Ohio State (No. 6) continue to be the highest-ranked Big Ten teams in the updated US LBM Coaches Poll this week following their road wins over the weekend. Indiana cruised past Rutgers in New Jersey while Ohio State passed a road test at No. 14 Iowa. The Hawkeyes dropped from No. 14 to No. 18 in the updated coaches poll.

Other Big Ten teams in this week's US LBM Coaches Poll in addition to Indiana, Ohio State, and Iowa are No. 13 Oregon, No. 17 USC, and No. 22 UCLA.

Penn State was not the only Big Ten to fall out of the coaches poll this week. Michigan, which also suffered a second loss in a row in Big Ten play, fell out of the ranking this week after entering Week 5 at No. 24 in the coaches poll. Penn State was removed from the AP Top 25 after its first loss of the year, to Wisconsin, last week. Penn State and Michigan were the only two teams to be dropped from this week's coaches poll.
