Minnesota had a major comeback win over Michigan on Saturday.
P.J. Fleck's team was trailing 14-7 at halftime, but held the Wolverines scoreless in the second half for a 20-14 win. He delivered the quote of the year after knocking off Michigan.
"I couldn't be prouder," Fleck told FOX Sports' Jenny Taft. "Besides my marriage, my kids being born, this might be the best day of my life."
Michigan quarterback Bryce Underwood tried to work some late game heroics, but couldn't convert on fourth down and 5 with 37 seconds left at midfield. This is the second loss for first-year Wolverines' coach Kyle Whittingham, who left Utah after two decades to join the Big Ten powerhouse program.
Minnesota won the game with The Killers "Mr. Brightside" blared in the background in a surreal moment for Fleck and his team.
The Golden Gophers improved to 4-1 overall with the program's first home win over Michigan since 1977. Michigan's struggles continue to mount as Underwood was picked off twice. The $12.5 million QB has yet to live up to the hype in Ann Arbor.
Fleck is in the midst of his tenth season at Minnesota with a 70-45 record. The Gophers will try to add another win next week against Purdue.
