USC (4-1) took its first loss of the season last Saturday in a 41-27 home loss to Oregon. The loss marked the Trojans’ fifth straight to the Ducks. While the offense was successful, it’s the defense that has been a liability for the team so far this season.

Trojans quarterback Jayden Maiava passed for 326 yards and two touchdowns. He has thrown over 260 yards every game and has thrown for multiple touchdowns in all five games. Wide receiver Kayden Dixon-Wyatt had a strong game, hauling in seven passes for 114 yards and a touchdown.

As for the Huskies (3-1), they lost their first Big Ten game of the season against Minnesota. In the 27-24 loss at home they rushed for just 40 yards on 27 attempts. The Huskies are averaging 107.3 rushing yards per game this season, which ranks 124th among 138 FBS programs.

A big problem for the Huskies against the Golden Gophers was quarterback Demond Williams Jr. being sacked seven times. He’s been sacked a total of 10 times already this season. Protecting the quarterback will be necessary in this game.
