It was not how Notre Dame envisioned its trip to Provo, Utah, falling to the BYU Cougars and then taking a tumble in the US LBM Coaches Poll.

Luckily, the Irish weren’t the only team inside the top-10 to take a loss as Georgia, Indiana, Alabama, and Texas each took a defeat this past Saturday. That lead to a massive shakeup in the coaches poll, with a new No. 1 on plenty of teams moving after a wild weekend in college football.

With the win over Notre Dame, BYU rose to No. 3 while the Irish’s next big opponent, Miami, took over the top spot in the rankings. That game is turning into a must win for the Blue and Gold after this past weekend.
