Minnesota earned a 4-0 Big Ten home victory over Maryland on Friday night, improving to 7-3-2 overall and 3-2-1 in conference play. The result was head coach Erin Chastain's 50th win leading the Gophers.

Ava Westlund scored twice after halftime, while Matigann Vixayvong and Katelyn Rigg recorded their first Minnesota goals. The Gophers held a 23-9 advantage in shots, and Sarah Martin made four saves for the clean sheet.

Minnesota next visits No. 2 Michigan State on October 8.
