LSU football strung together a second straight SEC win in Week 8. Head coach Lane Kiffin and his team defeated Auburn 38-17 on the road. The purple and gold earned a spot in the most recent AP poll.

Voters put the Tigers at No. 15 in the country. That is up three spots from where they started Week 8. They continue to climb back of the list after losing in overtime to unranked Kentucky in Week 6. Heading into the bye week, LSU has a 6-2 record.

Georgia is the highest-ranked SEC team in the most recent AP poll. The Bulldogs are up two spots to No. 3. Kentucky follows at No. 9, up three spots from last week. No. 10 Alabama, No. 11 Texas and No. 12 Ole Miss round out the teams ahead of LSU.

The Tigers have the week off before facing three-straight ranked opponents. The Crimson Tide and Longhorns come to Baton Rouge before LSU travels to No. 16 Tennessee.
