College football hit its zaniest weekend featuring two upsets involving Texas and Oregon. Kentucky football walked in aiming to crack into the Top 25 after Pittsburgh catapulted UK. Now the Wildcats made history in stunning No. 10 LSU 35-34 Saturday.

UK now owns the most wins against top 10 foes this season. And both came against SEC foes, with the Wildcats’ earlier upset over Texas A&M, which came at College Station. But there’s more added history here for coach Will Stein and his team.

“Kentucky becomes the first FBS program in the three decades of overtime’s existence to win back-to-back OT games by one-point,” posted college football writer Jerit Roser on the social media website X, formerly Twitter.

So how did the unranked Wildcats shock Lane Kiffin and the Tigers? Through this walk-off two-point conversion touchdown:

This battle pitted two new coaches for their teams against one another. Except now Stein owns a 1-0 record against the past national champion assistant and decorated winner Kiffin.

Both teams exchanged blows toward one another in Lexington. LSU placekicker Scott Starzyk booted the first points of the game on a 24-yarder. But UK retaliated by turning to running back CJ Baxter, who scored from three yards out to hand the Wildcats their first lead. LSU quarterback Sam Leavitt responded by throwing a 22-yard touchdown pass to place the Tigers up 10-7.

Then Brock Coffman of the Wildcats pulled off the epic game-changing special teams move: Scoring on a 45-yard punt return and staying in bounds the whole time.

Both teams exchanged leads five more times. However, Baxter drew the Wildcats closer on his one-yard rushing score, making it 34-33 in favor of LSU. Quarterback Kenny Minchey lifted UK to the stunner by scoring from three yards on the two-point attempt.
