The Kentucky football team is earning a reputation for dramatic victories this season. On Saturday, they fell behind 17-0 before getting things going. By the end of the game, though, they had taken it to overtime, where they got an exciting win over South Carolina. It was an important win, and finally earned the Wildcats a spot in the US LBM Coaches Poll.
The Wildcats debut in the coaches poll this year at No. 25. They are one of ten schools ranked this week, continuing a fantastic year for the SEC overall. One other team received votes this week.
Once again, the Texas Longhorns and Georgia Bulldogs hold the top two spots. The Alabama Crimson Tide and LSU Tigers join them in the top ten. Ole Miss just missed the top ten, coming in at No. 11. Missouri made the biggest leap, moving up nine spots, while the Florida Gators took the biggest fall, losing 7 spots.
Kentucky has the potential to take a big jump next week after playing LSU. If they get another top ten win this season, they'll likely jump into the top 20, and make a serious case to be a playoff contender.
Here's the full results of this week's coaches poll.
