Week 5 ended late Saturday evening, with Colorado falling to 2-3 after another disappointing loss, nearly identical to the previous two weeks. In the latest US LBM Coaches Poll, Colorado was unsurprisingly absent, but multiple Big 12 teams made the poll.
BYU leads the conference, moving up one spot to No. 8 following a gritty win against TCU. Texas Tech also moved up a spot to No. 9 after a 17-point fourth quarter got the Red Raiders past Colorado. Utah rounds out the trio of top-15 Big 12 teams, coming in at No. 12, up a spot despite being off this week. Houston beat UCF by ten points and comes in at No. 19, the final ranked Big 12 team.
Oklahoma State remains the first team left out of the poll, receiving 187 votes during its bye week. Arizona (15 votes), Baylor (3 votes) and Kansas State (1 vote) were the three Big 12 teams in the receiving votes section.
Elsewhere in college football, the top seven remained the same, with Texas, Georgia and Notre Dame leading the way. BYU, Texas Tech and LSU all moved up one spot to round out the top 10.
Florida fell seven spots after a blowout loss to Missouri, while the Tigers themselves moved up a poll-leading nine spots to No. 16. Iowa and Mississippi State fell four spots. Penn State (No. 22) and Michigan (No. 24) fell out of the poll.
