Iowa (5-2, 2-2 Big Ten) struggled mightily offensively in a 13-10 loss at Minnesota (5-2, 3-1 Big Ten) on Saturday.
The Hawkeyes turned the football over four times, had a punt blocked after an opening three-and-out, and fumbled four times in the game. It was an ugly Saturday for Iowa as the Hawkeyes lost possession of Floyd. Iowa finished with just 288 yards of offense, and 94 yards came on two plays on the Hawkeyes' lone scoring drive.
As a result, Iowa fell 10 spots to No. 24 nationally in the latest US LBM Coaches Poll.
Miami is still the nation's No. 1 team. The rest of the top five features No. 2 Ohio State, No. 3 Georgia, No. 4 Indiana, and No. 5 Utah. While the Buckeyes and Bulldogs were idle, defending national champion Indiana survived an overtime scare at Michigan, winning, 13-6. Utah rallied from a 10-0 deficit to win a top-25 showdown against Houston, 21-13.
Other Big Ten teams inside the new rankings include No. 7 UCLA, No. 18 Northwestern, and No. 25 USC.
Wisconsin, Minnesota, Nebraska, Oregon, and Michigan are receiving votes.
