As Iowa (5-1, 2-1 Big Ten) sat and watched the rest of the college football slate, the Hawkeyes were rewarded with a two-spot jump in the latest US LBM Coaches Poll rankings. Iowa is the nation's No. 14 team headed into Week 8.

Iowa's jump is thanks to Texas and Missouri's losses over the weekend. The Longhorns were stunned by Florida, 27-24. As a result, the Gators reentered the poll at No. 24. Meanwhile, Missouri fell at Ole Miss, 31-3.

For the second straight week, the nation's top team was beaten. Auburn toppled top-ranked Georgia, 27-24. BYU climbed to No. 3 nationally after upsetting then-No. 2 Notre Dame, 28-24.

In the Big Ten, Ohio State won its top-five showdown at Indiana, 19-15. Seven Big Ten teams are ranked in the new poll, led by No. 2 Ohio State. Joining the Buckeyes in the rankings are No. 6 Indiana, No. 10 UCLA, No. 14 Iowa, No. 15 USC, No. 23 Northwestern, and No. 25 Oregon.

Nebraska, Michigan, and Wisconsin are receiving votes.
