Quick slant:The Gators have lost 16 straight games against Top 10 opponents away from Gainesville, dating to a 44-28 win against Georgia in 2020. This stretch includes a 49-17 loss in 2024 at No. 5 Texas. The Longhorns have sold out their 100,119-seat DKR Stadium for five consecutive seasons.

About UF (4-2, 2-2):Florida rushed for 545 yards and 10 touchdowns in SEC wins against Auburn and Ole Miss, but he managed just 161 yards and one score in losses to Missouri and South Carolina. Jadan Baugh averaged 6.8 yards and scored six times on 45 carries in the two wins but has since averaged 2.7 yards on 27 carries, scoring once. Slowed by a high ankle sprain, receiver Eric Singleton Jr. has recorded just three catches for 50 yards since returning in the second half against Ole Miss. The Gators rank 15th among 16 SEC teams in scoring defense, allowing an average of 29 points, and last in total defense at 393 yards per game.

About Texas (4-1, 1-1): Star quarterback Arch Manning has been pedestrian, completing 63% of his passes for 1,122 yards, 10 touchdowns and five interceptions. Receivers Cam Coleman and Ryan Wingo, both juniors and potential first-round NFL draft picks, have combined for 38 catches for 614 yards and eight scores heading into a matchup against the SEC’s last-ranked pass defense. Defensively, the Longhorns allow just 4.22 yards per play, second in the conference to Georgia (4.20) and have surrendered a league-low eight touchdowns. Linebacker Rasheem Biles leads Texas with 42 tackles and two interceptions.

Three things to watch

1. Florida’s pass rush has been inconsistent, but Texas has allowed 12 sacks, including six during last weekend’s loss to Oklahoma. The Gators sacked Manning six times to upset the Longhorns 29-21 last season in the Swamp.

2. Florida and Texas have consecutive games without creating a turnover. The Gators forced eight during four September wins. The Longhorns forced three against Texas State during the season opener, and one apiece against Ohio State and UTSA.

3. Florida has generated 38 plays of at least 20 yards, compared with 16 for Texas. But the Longhorns have allowed just 12 such plays, while the Gators have yielded 26.
