Historical Notes:

  • Texas A&M and The Citadel have played just one other time, a 35-3 Texas A&M win in 2006.
  • The Citadel and A&M are two of the six senior military colleges in the United States (the others being Norwich University, University of North Georgia, VMI and Virginia Tech).
  • Famous Citadel alumni include Robert Jordan (Wheel of Time author) and then a bunch of politicians and military officers I’ve never heard of.

What To Watch For:

  • A win. I guess. This may just be the only remaining win on the A&M schedule, so savor it.
  • Another QB? Mike Elko has been pretty adamant that he doesn’t play on benching Marcel Reed, but Reed’s continued abysmal play may force his hand. Even if Reed remains the starter, don’t be surprised if Elko subs in another QB in the second half under the guise of resting the starter just to get an obligation-free peek of what that might look like.
  • Cheap tickets. The cheapest seats for this game are currently $49 on SeatGeek, but I’d imagine those continue to drop based on the opponent and the current state of the team. If you wanna enjoy some nice weather and take the family to an A&M game, this looks like it could be about as affordable as it gets.
