There are several must-see college football games in Week 7, like Ohio State traveling to Bloomington to take on Indiana. But things won’t get much bigger than No. 2 Notre Dame vs. No. 8 BYU.

It’s the first time “College GameDay” will be on hand in Provo for a BYU game since 2009, when the Cougars hosted TCU. And that wasn’t a good day for BYU. The Horned Frogs would defeat the Cougars, 38-7, on national TV.

BYU hopes things are better this time around and a Pro Football Hall of Famer will be on hand to see his beloved Cougars take on the Irish.

On Thursday, Oct. 15, it was announced on “The Pat McAfee Show” that former BYU quarterback and San Francisco 49ers legend Steve Young will be the celebrity picker for “College GameDay.”

Young played for BYU from 1980-1983 before becoming the No. 1 pick in the 1984 NFL Supplemental Draft. His No. 8 jersey is retired at BYU, and he will forever live in Cougars lore. Young’s NFL career was also quite good. He was a two-time NFL MVP, won three Super Bowls and was voted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame back in 2005.
