Texas A&M's bye week has been, and will remain, quiet, as coach Mike Elko will not speak to the media, including his regular Wednesday night appearance on the Aggie Football Hour. While we await a potential announcement about coaching staff or roster changes, which aren't expected at this time, the Aggies' Week 10 road matchup vs. South Carolina is next.
Texas A&M's dreadful season will continue for at least four more weeks after the bye, starting with a road game against the Gamecocks for the first time since 2024. After the Aggies' epic comeback win after trailing 30-3 in Kyle Field last season, revenge is likely in order, especially for a South Carolina offense that looked much better during last Saturday's comeback win over Tennessee.
The Gamecocks aren't much better than Texas A&M, but they've played better over the last two weeks, and starting quarterback LaNorris Sellers has thrown for 1,548 yards and 13 touchdowns and rushed for 507 yards and four scores.
The Aggie offense hasn't performed well enough to inspire much hope, as starting quarterback Marcel Reed has failed to improve as a passer, while freshman running back KJ Edwards has been the lone bright spot over the past three games.
Still, the Aggies will not enter Week 10 as a massive road underdog, and ESPN's early FPI prediction gives Mike Elko's squad a 48.1% chance to defeat South Carolina (51.9%). Announced Monday, Texas A&M vs. South Carolina kicks off at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 7.
