The SEC was home to one of the most entertaining games of the Week 8 college football schedule — and one of its biggest upsets.
The latter of those came in Columbia, South Carolina, where an unranked Gamecocks team upended No. 11 Tennessee 27-24. LaNorris Sellers completed 18 of 32 passes for 210 yards and a score, adding a game-tying rushing touchdown in the game's final minutes — with a Herculean effort — to help lead the Gamecocks to the upset.
Dylan Stewart, who was suspended earlier this season, provided the defensive play of the game when he knocked the ball loose from George MacIntyre's hands to set up a walk-off field goal for Shane Beamer's squad.

Elsewhere, Arch Manning and No. 18 Texas nearly suffered a third-straight second-half collapse at home vs. No. 7 Ole Miss, but held on long enough to eke out a 34-27 win. Manning completed 18 of 30 passes for 212 yards and a touchdown to two interceptions while getting strip-sacked, but still rushed for two touchdowns to help Texas get back in the win column.
Credit to Ole Miss, which not only scored 21 straight points to tie the game 24-24 in the second half, but also executed a near-perfect late-game sequence in which it kicked a field goal, recovered an onside kick and made it inside the Texas 30-yard line before Trinidad Chambliss' last-second heave to the end zone was intercepted as time expired.
In Tuscaloosa, a 13th-ranked Alabama team decimated by injuries also avoided a third straight loss against Texas A&M. The Crimson Tide seemed on the verge of another second-half snoozer against Mike Elko's Aggies, but scored its first second-half touchdowns since Week 5 to beat Texas A&M 31-20. The Crimson Tide is now on bye, and it could not have come at a better time.
