No. 18 Tennessee (1-0) will face Georgia Tech (0-1) on Saturday in Week 2 at Bobby Dodd Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia (ESPN).

Former Tennessee assistant coach Chris Weinke is serving as Georgia Tech's assistant head coach, co-offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach under head coach Brent Key.

Weinke, 54, has been at Georgia Tech since 2022 when he was named quarterbacks coach. He was promoted to co-offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach in 2023, and assistant head coach in 2024.

Weinke coached at Tennessee from 2018-20 under head coach Jeremy Pruitt. He served as the Vols' running backs coach in 2018 and quarterbacks coach from 2019-20.

Weinke began his coaching career at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida in 2010, serving as director of football operations. He then served as the Rams' quarterbacks coach from 2015-16. Weinke began his college coaching career at Alabama as an offensive analyst from 2017-19, winning a national championship in 2017.

He played quarterback at Florida State from 1997-2000 and led the Seminoles to a 1999 BCS national championship. Weinke won the Heisman Trophy in 2000 and his No. 16 jersey number is retired by Florida State.

He was selected by Carolina in the fourth round of the 2021 NFL draft (No. 106 overall). Weinke played for the Panthers from 2001-06 and was named to the PFWA All-Rookie Team in 2001. Weinke concluded his playing career with San Francisco in 2007.
