Every ranked team in the Big 12 won its Week 5 game despite scares from unranked opponents. No. 10 Texas Tech led by only five going into the fourth quarter against Colorado, while No. 9 BYU held a seven-point lead over TCU, and No. 20 Houston trailed 17-14 against UCF going into the fourth quarter.
However, the most interesting game in the Big 12 was West Virginia vs. Iowa State. West Virginia had a chance to tie or take the lead with under two minutes left. They picked up a crucial third down before receiver DJ Epps fumbled, and the Cyclones recovered to secure the 45-42 win.
Here is how the Big 12 standings look after Week 5.
