The AP Top 25 looks a lot different after five of the top seven teams lost in Week 7.

A day after escaping in double overtime against Florida State at home, Miami basically became the No. 1 team in the country by default. The Hurricanes moved up to No. 1 after No. 1 Georgia lost at home to Auburn and No. 2 Notre Dame lost to BYU.

The Cougars moved up six spots to No. 2 after the controversial win over the Fighting Irish. BYU jumped ahead of Ohio State, who moved up a spot after beating Indiana on the road. Ohio State likely didn't move to No. 2 because of QB Julian Sayin's right shoulder injury. Buckeyes coach Ryan Day said Sayin is likely out "several weeks" after he was injured in the fourth quarter.

The top five is filled out by the Irish and Bulldogs. Indiana fell one spot to No. 6 and is followed by Ole Miss, Texas Tech, UCLA and Utah in the top 10. It's the first time Miami has been ranked No. 1 since the 2002 season, and BYU hasn't been in the top two of the AP Top 25 since 1984.

Texas dropped from No. 7 to No. 19 after it lost at home to unranked Florida. The Gators are now at No. 20. Texas became the first No. 1 team to lose back-to-back games to unranked teams with the loss to the Gators. The Longhorns lost the No. 1 ranking after a Week 6 loss to Oklahoma.

Alabama dropped from No. 6 to No. 13 after it lost to Tennessee. The Volunteers moved up to No. 11 with the home win. Since so many teams at the top of the poll lost, eight of the top 10 teams entering Week 7 stayed in the top 10.

There are also just six undefeated teams remaining in Miami, BYU, Texas Tech, UCLA, Utah and James Madison. The first five are in the top 10. The Dukes are unranked.

Week 8 could end up being a bit calmer than Week 7, though you should always be prepared for the unpredictable in college football. There are just two matchups between ranked teams, as Ole Miss heads to Texas and No. 14 Houston visits Utah. The Cougars moved up six spots with a win over Oklahoma State.

Three top-five teams — Ohio State, Notre Dame and Georgia — are all off in Week 8.
