Happy prediction Friday, Hawkeye fans!
Most of you know the drill by now, but if you're new to HawkeyeRoundtable.com, Friday during football season is where we share our predictions for Iowa's upcoming game. Whether it's our actual score prediction or a breakdown of the point spreads, we've got you covered.
And speaking of point spreads, that's what we're going to be diving into today. Our score prediction for Saturday's rivalry clash between the No. 15 Hawkeyes and Golden Gophers is out, so now it's time to dive into the betting prediction.
We've already discussed some interesting betting lines for other Week 8 games, but this piece is going to feature our official betting prediction for the 120th edition of this historic border state rivalry.
Let's get into it.
NOTE: All betting lines are courtesy of DraftKings and are as of Oct. 22. Call 1-800-BETS OFF if you live in Iowa (1-800-MY-RESET is the national line) and are struggling with gambling.

Spread Pick: Iowa -7
If you've read my score prediction, you already know my answer here. I'm going to try to avoid repeating myself here, but the run game is going to be the biggest key to Iowa winning this football game. You can find more analysis in the final score pick, but the bottom line here: the Hawkeyes have a good run defense and Minnesota does not. That's obviously the on-field factor, but consider this as well. Gopher head coach P.J. Fleck simply can't beat Iowa. He's done a great job against archrival Wisconsin, but there's just something about these Hawkeyes that Fleck's teams can't crack.
Most of Minnesota's losses to Iowa in Fleck's early career were close defeats, but the margin of victory has gotten much worse in recent years. The Hawkeyes have won the last two meetings by a combined score of 72-17 and three of their last five victories in Minneapolis have come by double-digits.
Over/under pick: My final score prediction again gives this pick away, but these oddsmakers just never seem to learn that Iowa's offensive struggles are long in the past. The Hawkeyes have scored 40+ points three times this season, with one of those games being the 41-24 triumph over Washington two weeks ago. Minnesota may struggle to move the football against Phil Parker's defense, but Iowa will score enough points to push this total over.
Iowa -110 to tally 160+ rushing yards: We've been talking about how the ground game could be a crucial piece of a Hawkeye victory all week long, so I'm taking this for my fun pick of the week. Kamari Moulton should be in line for another big game, but here's my hot take: this will be a breakout game for L.J. Phillips. The South Dakota transfer has battled injuries throughout most of the season, but it feels like he's waiting for a moment to shine. I think he gets into the end zone for the first time as a Hawkeye.
