Texas A&M sits at 3-3 and 1-3 in SEC play after falling to Missouri 27-6 on Saturday afternoon, as the Aggies' 2026 season spirals out of control, largely because of offensive issues, especially starting quarterback Marcel Reed's poor play. Third-year coach Mike Elko's priorities shouldn't be reacting to negative fan reactions, but finding a way to salvage what has already been a miserable season in College Station.

Set to host The Citadel on Saturday afternoon, any hope of the Aggies winning out is hard to fathom, mainly due to the offense failing to find any success through the air or on the ground, while the defense, which performed well in pass coverage against the Tigers, still has trouble consistently stopping the run.

After The Citadel and A&M's bye week, Alabama on the road, South Carolina on the road, Tennessee at home, Oklahoma on the road, and Texas at home make up the rest of the Aggies' schedule, which could result in ending the year with just four or five wins if this level of play on offense continues.

After losing to Missouri, Texas A&M dropped seven spots to No. 21 in ESPN's Football Power Index with a rating of 13.7. The Aggies are currently the ninth-highest-ranked SEC team, trailing Missouri (No. 7). Oklahoma (No. 16), Ole Miss (No. 15), Tennessee (No. 13), LSU (No. 8), Texas (No. 6), Alabama (No. 5), and Georgia (No. 2).

Following Saturday's loss, ESPN's FPI also currently projects Texas A&M's win-loss record at 5.7-6.3 and a 0.3% chance to win out. Per ESPN's FPI, Texas A&M also has a 0% chance to win the SEC and a 0.4% chance to make the College Football Playoff.

Texas A&M will host The Citadel at noon CT on Saturday, with the game streaming on SEC Network+.
