The Florida Gators men's basketball program is hungry for another National Championship, and they certainly allotted enough NIL to achieve that.

While the results still have to be there on the court, head coach Todd Golden had a surplus of money to spend, and that's putting it lightly.

Nothing was off-limits for this Gators team as they brought back Thomas Haugh, Rueben Chinyelu, and Alex Condon.

All three are entering at least their second season with the team, and for good reason. After an early tournament exit against Iowa a year ago, the Gators stopped at nothing to make sure they all saw enough money their way to stick around.

In a tremendous piece by CBS Sports' Matt Norlander and Isaac Trotter, it was revealed that Florida is in "Tier 1," which includes programs that have spent $20 million or more on their roster for the 2026-27 season.

Florida's projected budget: $20+ million

This may seem like an abnormal amount to be spending for one year of college basketball, but NIL has taken over in a big way.

Spending $20+ million will likely be a common occurrence in the next few years, and there are already a boatload of programs that are spending as much as, if not more than, the Gators: Duke, Kentucky, Illinois, Louisville, Michigan, North Carolina, St. John's, Tennessee, Texas, and Texas Tech.

According to Norlander and Trotter, Haugh "comfortably projects as the highest earner" in men's college basketball, and the Gators "have a collective valuation north of $25 million."

Only Louisville and Kentucky have put more money into their men's basketball teams, so it'll be interesting to see how those three look this year.

Can money buy everything?

On paper, it looks rather unstoppable having a preseason All-American, defensive player of the year, and All-SEC forward leading the charge.

Florida's roster is tremendous, to say the least, but time and time again it's been proven that money can't buy everything.

Golden has his work cut out for him, even with this team being ranked No. 1 in the preseason AP Top 25.

The Gators' schedule this season includes quite a few games against opponents in the same tier of spending as them, so those will be can't-miss showdowns spanning from Dec. 1 to Mar. 6.

Notable opponents on Florida's schedule include: No. 2 Duke, No. 23 Kentucky, No. 8 Tennessee, and No. 7 Texas (twice).
