Georgia Is Back on Top
Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs have officially reclaimed college football’s throne. Georgia’s victory over Alabama was its biggest statement of the season, and the Bulldogs received 66 of 70 first-place votes.
At 6-0, Georgia has positioned itself as the team everyone else is chasing.
Texas and Oregon Have Some Explaining to Do
How does Texas go from being the No. 1 team in America to losing against an unranked Oklahoma squad?
The Longhorns’ offense struggled when it mattered most, and their six-spot drop feels justified. Arch Manning and company have plenty to prove moving forward.
However, Oregon might be the biggest disappointment of the weekend.
The Ducks suffered an embarrassing 17-15 home loss to UCLA, dropping completely out of the AP Poll after entering the weekend ranked No. 13. For a program with national championship expectations, this is unacceptable.
LSU Is Falling Apart
Lane Kiffin’s LSU Tigers have officially entered dangerous territory.
After losing 35-34 to Kentucky in overtime, LSU plummeted 12 spots to No. 22. The Tigers entered the season with championship expectations, but two losses have raised serious questions about their ability to compete with the nation’s elite.
Meanwhile, Kentucky makes an impressive jump into the rankings at No. 15.
Next Weekend Could Change Everything
The upcoming slate features massive matchups, including No. 4 Ohio State at No. 5 Indiana, No. 6 Alabama at No. 14 Tennessee, and No. 2 Notre Dame at No. 8 BYU.
With so many ranked teams facing each other, another major shakeup could be coming.
One thing is certain: Georgia sits on top of college football, but nobody’s position is safe in this unpredictable season.
