The Washington Huskies are searching far and wide for defensive line reinforcements in the 2028 class, and that search has taken Jedd Fisch's coaching staff to Texas, where it extended an offer to four-star defensive lineman RJ Wyms.
The 6-foot-1, 265-pound product of The Woodlands College Park High School is ranked as the No. 36 overall prospect and No. 6 defensive lineman by 247Sports, and has become one of the nation's most sought-after defensive linemen.
Wyms holds 34 offers with California, LSU, Miami, Michigan, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Texas Tech, UCLA, Wisconsin, and a host of other Power Four programs in the mix for his services. But with over a year until the 2028 class is able to sign, the Huskies have plenty of time to build a relationship with the powerful pass rusher.

On film, Wyms, whose father, Ellis, played eight seasons in the NFL and won Super Bowl XXXVII with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, shows off immense strength. His initial punch consistently knocks offensive linemen backwards, allowing him the freedom to shoot into the backfield and create havoc plays.
As a sophomore, he compiled 49 tackles, 25 tackles for loss, 6 sacks, and 3 forced fumbles thanks to his combination of power and explosiveness. He also displays the versatility that defensive coordinator Ryan Walters looks for up front, lining up at both defensive tackle and defensive end, and with his strength, he looks like he could physically hold up at the college level at either position.
The Huskies are looking at adding several high-end defensive linemen in the 2028 class, with five-star edge rusher Landen Wade and four-star defensive tackle Aedyn Havili at the top of their wish list.
