The Washington Huskies are among the top 12 teams still in the running for the services of four-star Rancho Santa Margarita (Calif.) Santa Margarita Catholic cornerback Ca'ron Williams on Thursday.

Williams, a 5-foot-10, 175-pound prospect with more than two dozen offers going into his junior season, named UW along with California, LSU, Notre Dame, Miami, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas, Texas A&M, UCLA, and USC as the dozen schools the standout corner is moving forward in his recruitment with.

The No. 176 overall recruit in the 2028 class by the 247Sports Composite, Williams received his offer from the Huskies at the AveryStrong Showcase last May after a strong performance in front of Jedd Fisch's coaching staff. Since UW offered, several other Power Four schools have joined the hunt, four of which—UCLA, Oklahoma, Texas and Notre Dame—are included in the 12 schools he's focusing on.

Over Williams' first two seasons at Santa Margarita Catholic in Southern California, he's accrued 92 tackles, 7 pass breakups, 4 interceptions and 4 tackles for loss in 24 games. As a sophomore, Williams more than doubled his interception total from his freshman season, from one to three—one for a touchdown in the Eagles' 33-27 win over Centennial on August 28.

Although the Huskies have made it to the next round in Williams' recruitment, secondary coach John Richardson and second-year defensive coordinator Ryan Walters will have to fight off several schools that got involved early in his recruitment, including LSU, where he camped this past June.

Going into the 2026 season, UW does not yet hold a verbal commitment in the 2028 class. The next objective for the Huskies' staff will be to get Williams on campus for an unofficial visit this fall—ideally—or during the winter after the 2027 class signs and the focus fully shifts to next year's cycle.
