After BYU hosted ESPN College GameDay last weekend, Utah is next up. The popular pregame show moves 45 miles north for what is now college football's most expensive matchup in Week 8.
Rece Davis and the rest of the crew are staying in the Beehive State for another week. After BYU took care of Notre Dame, No. 10 Utah will try their luck with No. 14 Houston. For those looking for tickets, the cost is now up from last month. The average price is up 18 percent, according to StubHub's figures.
As of Monday evening, the get-in price to watch the Utes and Cougars at Rice-Eccles Stadium is currently $249 on StubHub. It's one of two matchup with Top 25 teams facing each other.
The one expected to be the highest was Ole Miss taking on Texas. However, the Longhorns have suffered two straight losses, which has taken a bit of the hype away. The get-in price at Austin's Darrell K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium is $164. It's hard to believe a Big 12 matchup is beating out the SEC. The only other game close in price is LSU taking on Auburn at $136.
As expected, the prices for all three matchups will fluctuate before kickoff. Being able to have ESPN on campus is a huge plus for the Utes, who look to stay perfect on the season after a scare at Colorado on Saturday.
Utah struggled to find any consistency on the road. Devon Dampier went 24 of 41 for 278 yards with three touchdowns. But there was a stint where he threw two interceptions in 15 past attempts during the game. That matched his season total coming into the game. The Utes' offense allowed Colorado to hang around in the game too close for comfort.
Wayshawn Parker came into the game averaging 172.5 yards per game in the previous two contests. He had a season-high 23 carries for 98 yards. Despite Utah's struggles, the only factor that will matter is being able to leave Boulder with a win. This was also the first time Utah scored under 30 points in a game since last year's Holy War loss to BYU.
With Notre Dame and Indiana each taking a loss in Week 7, Utah now owns the nation's longest winning streak at 12 games. This is an outstanding start with a 6-0 record for Morgan Scalley's first season as head coach.
Houston will be Utah's toughest opponent so far this season. Kickoff is scheduled for 10:15 p.m. ET Saturday on ESPN.
