There’s still one more game left in Week 1 of the 2026 college football season (SMU-Florida State), but ESPN has already dropped its updated FPI Top 25 rankings.

Texas comes in at No. 1 after rolling Texas State 59-7 on Saturday. Quarterback Arch Manning finished with 305 yards through the air, four touchdowns, and an interception.

Ohio State slots in at No. 2 after crushing Ball State 56-3. Quarterback Julian Sayin and wide receiver Jeremiah Smith were on another level in that game and will need similar performances if OSU wants to beat Texas next Saturday.

Notre Dame, Miami, and Georgia round out the top five. Notre Dame beat Wisconsin, Miami beat Stanford, and Georgia beat Tennessee State.
