Three Tennessee football players earned SEC honors for Week 5.
Senior running back DeSean Bishop was named SEC Co-Offensive Player of the Week. Junior defensive back Dejuan Lane earned SEC Co-Defensive Player of the Week honors, while punter and fifth-year player Jackson Ross was named SEC Co-Special Teams Player of the Week after the Vols defeated Auburn, 24-14, on Oct. 4, at Neyland Stadium.
Bishop totaled a career-high 220 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 34 attempts.
His 34 rushing attempts, 220 yards and three touchdowns were the most recorded by a SEC player in a single game this season.
Bishop also became the first Tennessee player to record 200-plus rushing yards since Eric Gray totaled 246 yards against Vanderbilt on Nov. 30, 2019.
Lane totaled a career-high nine tackles for the Vols. He also finished with 2.5 tackles for a loss and two sacks versus the Tigers. Lane also had one quarterback hurry and one interception. His nine tackles surpassed his previous career-high (six).
Ross totaled 265 yards on six punts, averaging 44.2 yards per attempt. He had a 51-yard punt in the contest. Five of his six punts landed inside Auburn's 11-yard line, while three punts were inside the 5-yard line.
