No. 13 Alabama could be without three additional contributors when it hosts Texas A&M on Saturday afternoon at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
Cornerback Zabien Brown, running back EJ Crowell and starting center Racin Delgatty were all downgraded from questionable to doubtful on Friday's SEC availability report. All three are unlikely to play against the Aggies. Brown and Crowell suffered lower-body injuries during Alabama's 26-10 loss to Tennessee last weekend. Neither returned after leaving the game in the second quarter.
Brown has recorded 19 tackles and four passes defended this season. His potential absence could create opportunities for quarterback Marcel Reed and Texas A&M's passing attack against a depleted Alabama secondary. Crowell has rushed for 216 yards and four touchdowns, giving the Crimson Tide another option in the backfield. His absence would reduce Alabama's rushing depth as the Aggies look to improve against the run.
Delgatty suffered an injury against Georgia and missed last week's Tennessee matchup. Without its starting center, Alabama could struggle to protect quarterback Keelon Russell, especially if Texas A&M can generate pressure up the middle.
Alabama players listed as out
- Ryan Coleman-Williams: Wide receiver
- Desmond Umeozulu: Linebacker
- Cayden Jones: Linebacker
- Nick Sherman: Defensive back
- Jeremiah Beaman: Defensive lineman
- Terrance Green: Defensive lineman
The Crimson Tide already have six players ruled out, including wide receiver Ryan Coleman-Williams, defensive lineman Terrance Green and linebacker Desmond Umeozulu. For Texas A&M, the injuries present opportunities on both sides of the ball. However, the Aggies must capitalize on those advantages after struggling offensively during SEC road losses to LSU and Missouri.
Alabama enters Saturday's matchup 5-2 after two straight losses, while Texas A&M is 4-3 after a shutout win over The Citadel.
Kickoff is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. CT on ABC.
