The Texas Tech Red Raiders will be looking to maintain their incredible start to the season when they travel to Nippert Stadium on Saturday to take on the Cincinnati Bearcats.
With Joey McGuire's team coming off a 53-25 stomping of Arizona State and sitting at 6-0, the Red Raiders are in superb form, while the Bearcats, at 4-2, are coming off a high-scoring 45-42 loss to West Virginia last week.
So, this game has all the makings of a shootout, although the Red Raiders' defense will hope not, as they allow a little over 17 points a game through the first six weeks, so they are pulling their weight.
As is the offense, led by Will Hammond, scoring on average 37 points per game, but we can't forget J'Koby Williams, who has rushed for 538 yards and 5 TDs this season, as he is proving to be the perfect foil for Hammond and the passing game led by Kenny Johnson.

As for the Bearcats, they are averaging 35 points per game, with JC French throwing for 1,388 yards and 9 TDs, with no interceptions.
But the run game with Cole Tabb (448 yards, 9.1 yards per carry, and 8 TDs) looms large here for the Texas Tech defense, as they can't allow the Cincinnati offense to get rolling on the ground, because they are difficult to stop.
This feels like a game that the Red Raiders, if they play to their potential, should be winning, but given the amount of upsets we have seen already in college football this season, you can never take a game for granted.
Also, the Bearcats, despite being unranked, are no pushovers, but this is their first game against ranked opposition, so the Red Raiders could shell-shock them if they get rolling.

McGuire's team has been exactly what we thought they would be in preseason, and has started the year like a true playoff contender.
And like a good team, we think they should walk into Nippert Stadium and walk out with a win.
