The Texas Longhorns are looking to bolster their 2027 recruiting class which is currently No. 7 in the nation. They've taken their search to the state of Illinois by extending an offer to four-star wide receiver Ronnie Gomiller out of East St. Louis High School.

"University of Texas offered!! #AGTG," he announced on social media.

The 5-foot-9.5, 188-pounder committed to Cincinnati back in June. Indiana, Iowa, Arizona State, Michigan State, Kansas State, Kentucky, and Purdue are some of his other notable offers.

Gomiller was surprised by the offer from Texas per Horns247. Their general manager Brandon Harris is the one that called him while he was in class.

Honestly, I was in class doing work. I got a call from my coaches, told me to come to the locker room," Gomiller said. "We started to chat a little about football, then he surprised me with a call from the coach. He said he missed out on me with recruiting stuff before I committed. He was kind of mad he was late. But he said I'd be a big impact to Texas' offense.

Harris is also working to get Gomiller in for a visit. The details are still being worked out, but the plan is to have him om campus next weekend when Texas plays Ole Miss.

Gomiller is listed as the No. 348 overall prospect and the No. 22 athlete in the country by 247Sports composite rankings. He's also the No. 14 recruit in Illinois.
