In the wake of Saturday’s last-second 27-24 loss to the Oklahoma Sooners, the Texas Longhorns dropped from the No. 1 ranking in the AP Top 25 and the Coaches Poll on Sunday, falling to No. 7 in the AP and No. 6 in the Coaches Poll.

The four weeks in the AP’s top spot was the longest for the Longhorns since 1977 and came to an ignominious end after losing in the Cotton Bowl as a significant favorite over the Sooners, who entered the weekend with two losses that put multiple coaches under fire.

Georgia is the new No. 1 in both polls after going to Tuscaloosa and beating then-No. 6 Alabama 20-17. The Tide remained at No. 6 in the AP and No. 7 in the Coaches Poll.

Next week’s opponent, Florida, fell out the Coaches Poll after a second straight loss, a surprising 38-19 defeat by South Carolina in Gainesville.
