Texas A&M's No. 1-ranked 2027 recruiting class, with 26 commitments, isn't expected to be affected by the Aggies' two-game losing streak, as several sources and commits say their trust in third-year coach Mike Elko hasn't waned.
On Saturday night, the Aggies will host Arkansas in a game between two struggling programs, while Texas A&M's roster is certainly more talented but has underwhelmed over the last three weeks. Still, after listening to third-year coach Mike Elko this week, combined with sophomore linebacker Noah Mikhail, it's clear that the approach to this week's practice has been much better.
Even more important, Elko and his staff will host a long and talented list of 2027 commits and 2028 prospects, including the No. 1 and No. 2-ranked defensive linemen in the cycle, Kellan Hall and Prince Che. Texas A&M has already received a prediction to land Che, thanks to a long and successful history of developing future NFL defensive linemen.
In the 2027 class, Mike Elko will look to lock down four of the program's six five-star commits, as offensive linemen Mark Matthews and Kennedy Brown, safety Kamarui Dorsey, and linebacker Kaden Henderson will all be in College Station.
After visiting the Florida Gators in an unofficial capacity last weekend, four-star Edge Frederick Ards will be back paired with four-star safety JayQuan Snell, who recently shut down his recruitment. Four-star wide receiver Jaden Upshaw, five-star cornerback Raylaun Henry, and four-star athlete/cornerback Hakeem Frampton, who have also shut down their recruitments, will be back as well.
The No. 1-ranked 2028 safety Casey Barner will also head to College Station, alongside five-star wide receiver Braylon Clark, four-star receiver Mekhi Parker, and five-star cornerback Keaton Field, all confirmed by Rivals insider Steve Wiltfong.
Texas A&M will face Arkansas on Saturday at 6:00 p.m., airing on ESPN2.
