Texas A&M football returns from its bye week Saturday facing a difficult road assignment against No. 21 South Carolina, with the Aggies desperately needing a victory to salvage some momentum in a disappointing season.
For Mike Elko's Aggies, the biggest concern is the health of their offensive personnel.

Freshman running back KJ Edwards remains questionable after battling a leg injury. Edwards leads Texas A&M with 360 rushing yards, averaging 6.5 yards per carry with two touchdowns.
The receiving corps is also severely depleted. Terry Bussey, Kelshaun Johnson and Ashton Bethel-Roman are ruled out, along with offensive lineman Blake Ivy.
There is encouraging news defensively. Linebacker Noah Mikhail, Texas A&M's second-leading tackler with 36 stops, has been removed from the injury report and is expected to play.
South Carolina has significant injury problems of its own.
The Gamecocks will be without wide receiver Jayden Sellers, running back Matt Fuller, defensive lineman Jordan Thomas, defensive back J'Zavien Currence, edge rusher Kobby Sakyi-Prah and three offensive linemen.
South Carolina enters riding a three-game winning streak, including a 42-25 victory at Oklahoma.
Texas A&M, meanwhile, hasn't played since falling 31-20 at Alabama on October 24.
The Aggies can draw encouragement from last season's meeting, when quarterback Marcel Reed threw for a career-high 439 yards while engineering an improbable 31-30 comeback victory over South Carolina.
But Williams-Brice Stadium hasn't been particularly welcoming. Texas A&M has lost its last two trips to Columbia.
With South Carolina chasing another statement victory and Texas A&M trying to avoid falling below .500, Saturday's matchup carries significant consequences for both programs.
The final SEC injury report is scheduled approximately 90 minutes before kickoff, making Edwards' availability the last major question facing the Aggies.
