No. 23 Texas A&M (2-1, 0-1 SEC) will take on No. 10 LSU (2-1, 0-1 SEC) just a week after falling to unranked Kentucky 31-21 in Kyle Field, while the Tigers are coming off last Saturday's primetime 32-24 road loss to Ole Miss, where first-year coach Lane Kiffin coached from 2020-2025.

For both programs, losing early in the season and falling to 0-2 in SEC play isn't devastating, but it has created a "must-win" scenario that should lead to one of the more exciting matchups, even though some believe LSU will blow out the Aggies, which isn't out of the realm of possibility after watching A&M's performance against the Wildcats.

Still, under third-year coach Mike Elko and starting quarterback Marcel Reed, Texas A&M has not lost to LSU in the last two seasons, winning 38-23 at home and 49-25 in Baton Rouge last season. Mike Elko and Lane Kiffin have yet to face each other as head coaches, but both know each other's strengths.

On paper, Texas A&M's defensive line must produce more pressures, while the secondary can't allow explosive passing plays. The key is to keep LSU quarterback Sam Leavitt in the pocket, where he has struggled through three games and has already thrown five interceptions.

For the Aggies, any chance of pulling off the upset falls at the feet of Marcel Reed, who is one of the most polarized quarterbacks in the country, but isn't lacking confidence.
