Texas A&M vs Alabama Odds

  • Texas A&M vs Alabama point spread: Alabama -14 (-108 ), Texas A&M +14 (-115)
  • Texas A&M vs Alabama over/under: 50.5 (-109o / -111u)
  • Texas A&M vs Alabama moneyline: Texas A&M +470, Alabama -650

Last year, Texas A&M started 11-0, its first 10-win season in 13 years, and made the College Football Playoff for the first time. However, the season ended with a thud, losing to rival Texas and failing to score a touchdown in a home CFP loss to Miami. That negative momentum has carried into 2026 as the Aggies have already lost three games and a return trip to the CFP looks like a faint possibility.

While the Aggies benefitted from a favorable schedule last season, they already have those losses, and still a brutal schedule remains, beginning in Tuscaloosa this week. The Aggies’ remaining strength of record is the toughest in the nation according to ESPN’s Football Power Index. However, more concerning than the remaining schedule has been the regression of senior quarterback Marcel Reed.

After accounting for over 3,500 yards and 30 touchdowns last season, Reed nearly has an even touchdown-to-interception ratio this season. He has thrown seven touchdowns and six interceptions while completing 55.7% of his passes and ranks 93rd in the FBS in QBR. The Aggies are 104th in Passing Success Rate and 132nd in Passing Explosiveness.

Meanwhile, the Aggies have not been too explosive on the ground either, ranking 33rd in Rushing Success Rate. Running backs KJ Edwards and Reuben Owens II are both over 300 rushing yards this season. Edwards is coming off the first 100-yard performance of his career. His assignment will be tougher this week, but DeSean Bishop ran all over the Crimson Tide last week.

Last season, Texas A&M often had an advantage in Havoc on both sides of the ball. This year, however, it has slipped to 48th in Havoc Allowed and 68th in Havoc. Chase Bisontis and Cashius Howell are a couple of notable departures from last year’s teams on both sides of the line of scrimmage.

With Howell now a Bengal, the Aggies are last in the SEC in sacks and 117th Passing Explosiveness Allowed. If they are unable to get pressure this week, it could be a long game for their secondary.

Like Texas A&M, Alabama is trying to get back to the CFP this season. It got off to a 5-0 start, but has lost consecutive ranked matchups to Georgia and Tennessee. Both the Bulldogs and Volunteers have top-20 defenses per S&P+ and were able to frustrate redshirt freshman quarterback Keelon Russell.

Still, Russell has enjoyed a breakout season as he is completing 67.5 of his passes, throwing for 1,746 yards, 12 touchdowns, five interceptions, and 231 yards and five touchdowns on the ground. That is despite being sacked 20 times in seven games and Alabama ranking 122nd in Havoc Allowed. This week should be one where the Crimson Tide are able to hold up in pass protection, but Russell will be without his No. 1 receiver once again.

Ryan Coleman-Williams missed last week’s game in Knoxville after suffering a concussion against Georgia. However, he also got his knee scoped to deal with a meniscus injury. With the Crimson Tide having a bye next week, the extra recovery time may help Williams return against LSU, but they will have to make do without him this week.

Derek Meadows will be one of the receivers expected to step up along with regular starters Lotzeir Brooks and Rico Scott. Brooks actually matches Coleman-Williams for the team lead with 415 receiving yards on 26 receptions.

Defensively, the two things that stand out with Alabama are its inconsistency in stopping the run and giving up big plays. Alabama ranks 12th in Rushing Success Rate Allowed, yet has allowed 150 rushing yards in three of its last four games.

The Crimson Tide is also 112th in Passing Explosiveness Allowed. It won’t help matters that they may be without cornerback Zabien Brown this week, as he is listed as questionable.

One of my first bets this week was over 50.5 for this matchup. I still like it for the full game, but Coleman-Williams being out again hurts the Crimson Tide offense. The Crimson Tide are 5-2 to the over this season, which is even more impressive considering the slow starts they have.

The Crimson Tide have scored 10 points or less in the first quarter in five of their seven games this season. The first-quarter under has hit in each of their last two games, as they had 12 points combined. Now, they match up with a struggling Texas A&M offense.

There have been 10 points or less in five of seven Texas A&M games this season. The Aggies have not scored a touchdown in the first quarter in three of their last five games. If these trends continue for both teams, I would expect the under in the first quarter to hit again.

Pick: 1st Quarter Total Under 10.5 (Play to -150)
