Texas A&M will need a full-team effort to pull off an upset on Saturday against No. 14 Missouri, especially from starting quarterback Marcel Reed, who completed 13/19 for 170 yards and added 66 rushing yards and a touchdown in the Aggies' 34-7 win over Arkansas last Saturday night.
Missouri comes off a blowout home win over Florida, beating the then-8th-ranked Gators 45-17 behind transfer quarterback Austin Simmons, who threw for 340 yards and two touchdowns and sliced and diced Florida's secondary in the second half.
Before beating Arkansas, Texas A&M lacked an identity, but it may have found one in the running game, rushing for 231 yards and four touchdowns as Marcel Reed used his legs efficiently, paired with freshman running back KJ Edwards, who produced 66 yards and two touchdowns, both career highs.
Facing Missouri's 12th-ranked run defense, Marcel Reed will be tasked with exposing Missouri's 99th-ranked passing defense, which has been an issue for the redshirt junior, who has struggled to consistently complete high-percentage throws all season.
Junior wide receiver Mario Craver, who is second on the team with 235 receiving yards and two touchdowns, has been listed as questionable with a 50% chance to play in the last three SEC availability reports, including Friday's latest release. If Reed can't go, Ashton Bethel-Roman, Isaiah Horton, and freshman Aaron Gregory will need to step up.
Right now, I expect Mario Craver to play, as he was also listed as questionable before the Arkansas game. Arkansas's seven questionable players have not changed since Wednesday.
